Feb. 18: Come Join Us For The Abbey’s “Play For Kay” Basketball Games

February 14th, 2012

“Play for Kay” is dedicated to the late Kay Yow, the older sister of Abbey women’s basketball coach Susan Yow, who passed away from breast cancer in 2009.

The Student Athletic Advisory Committee of Belmont Abbey College will be hosting its annual “Play for Kay” basketball game this Saturday (February 18) with the Lady Crusaders tipping off against Barton at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 7:30 p.m. Both games will be held in the College’s Wheeler Center.

The College asks you to send in the names of those who have survived or lost their fight to cancer. To honor them, the College will be place their names on luminaries that will surround the gymnasium entrance.

Also, all cancer survivors will be given free admission and will be honored during our ceremony. Shirts, socks, and bracelets will be sold with all proceeds going to the Kay Yow Foundation.  The late Kay Yow is the older sister of Abbey women’s basketball coach Susan Yow.

Please send in the names of those you will always remember for their fight with cancer by emailing playforkay@gmail.com
